North India jolted by Earthquake

Earthquake tremors have been felt in many parts of the country including Delhi-NCR. The tremors were felt at 10.34 pm. According to the information received, earthquake tremors were felt in many areas of North India including Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat. The magnitude of the earthquake has been measured 6.3. The epicenter of the quake is reported to be 80 kilometers below ground in Tajikistan. The earthquake caused panic among the people and they came out of their homes.

The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Tajikistan-Xinjiang border area and its magnitude measured 6.2 on the Richter Scale, reported Reuters. At the same time, according to news agency ANI, the intensity of this earthquake in Tajikistan was measured at 6.3.

Earthquake tremors have been felt in many areas of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat.

No damage from earthquake

Thankfully, no news of loss of life or property has been reported so far. According to geologists, earthquakes occur due to sharp movements in tectonic plates. Apart from this, meteor impact and volcanic eruptions, mine testing and nuclear testing are also causes of earthquakes.
