Under the State Health Scheme in Ayushman Yojana, one lakh pensioners and their dependents of Uttarakhand will again get the facility of cashless treatment. From October 1, on Golden Card, they will get treatment in any empaneled hospital under the scheme. The contribution of the last nine months will be deducted from the pension received in October. 16800 pensioners of the state have given the option of opting out of Ayushman Yojana.

The government had started the facility of cashless treatment on golden card to the state employees, pensioners and their dependents under Ayushman Yojana from January 2021. In which there is no limit on the expenditure on treatment for employees and pensioners. The facility of treatment has been provided at unlimited cost in any major hospital of the state and country listed in the scheme. But in lieu of this, monthly contribution is taken from the employees and pensioners.

Some pensioners had filed a petition in the High Court on the deduction of contribution from the pension for cashless treatment in the scheme. On which the High Court had ordered the government that the pensioners who do not want to take advantage of the scheme, should be given a chance. On this, the government has stopped the deduction of contribution from pensioners from December 2021. Also, twice the pensioners were asked to choose whether to take the benefit of the scheme or not. The pensioners who did not give the option were automatically considered included in the scheme. At the same time, till September 25, 2022, 16800 pensioners of the state have given the option of opting out of the scheme.

Now the former arrangement for those who are out of the scheme

For 16800 pensioners of the state who are out of Ayushman Yojana, now the earlier system will be applicable. Medical reimbursement will be given to them. Under which the bill of treatment will have to be given to the concerned department, after which the department will pass it and send it to the government and then the medical reimbursement will be done.
