Bank unions hold 2 day strike against privatization

Nationalized bankers are also involved in the strike in Uttarakhand on the call for a two-day strike on 15 and 16 March by all-India level constituent bank organizations. Due to which the locks are hanging outside nationalized banks. Bank employees are demonstrating under the banner of the United Federation of Bank Unions (UFBU) on Monday at Astley Hall Chowk to protest against the privatization of public sector banks.

Nine unions of banks are joining this strike. At the same time, 12 public sector banks will be affected by this strike. The strike is in public sector banks. In the strike of the banks, all the officers of the officers-unions ranging from scale 1 to scale 5 are joining the strike like every time.

UFBU’s Uttarakhand convenor Samadarshi Barathwal said that UFBU is opposing the government’s decision to privatize banks across the country. A procession will be taken out in the city from the Astley hall branch of the Central Bank from 10 am in Dehradun on both days of the strike. The procession will end at Astely Hall via Gandhi Park, Kumar Sweet Shop and return from Clock tower. Employees have been asked to attend the demonstration wearing black clothes.

All India Nationalized Bank Officers Federation’s state secretary Indra Singh Parmar said that the present government has announced the privatization of public banks in the budget, which is financially and socially fatal for the country. The decision here will create hindrance in reaching affordable financial services to the common man. National Banks have opened more than one lakh branches in different parts of the country in the last 50 years and continue to serve the people of the country.

Meanwhile in Roorkee, Employees and officials staged a protest at the PNB branch in BT Ganj in the city on Monday against the decision to privatize all nationalized banks on behalf of the United Forum of Banking Union. On this occasion, bank employees sad that the government is adopting an anti-employee policy. They shouted slogans against the government. They also said that he will intensify the movement against the government.
