Preparations on for 17th convocation of Kumaon University
Preparations are underway to hold the 17th convocation of Kumaon University in April next month. According to Vice Chancellor Prof. NK Joshi, after the recommendation of the Chancellor and Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya, the convocation ceremony may be organized online this year in view of the Corona transition.
According to Vice Chancellor Prof. Joshi, approval has been sent to the Chancellor to conduct the convocation. Now the date and the chief guests will be approved only after the decision of the Chancellor.
Prof. NK Joshi said that approval has been sent to Chancellor Baby Rani Maurya regarding the convocation. After the permission, the guests will be discussed along with the date of the convocation in April.
Kumaon University’s Director of Research and Dissemination, Prof. Lalit Tiwari said that this year about 25 thousand students will be given degrees. Apart from this, many meritorious will be given gold, silver and bronze medals. Kumaon University has been organizing convocation for the last 16 years.
.In the 16th convocation ceremony last year, 38,581 students were awarded degrees and Supreme Court judges Dr. DY Chandrachud and Padma Shri Dr. Saumitra Rawat were awarded honorary degrees.
