1 week lockdown in Delhi

In the wake of rising cases of Coronavirus infection, there has been big news for people of NCR cities along with Delhi. The lockdown has been imposed in Delhi till 26th of April amidst growing crisis of corona virus. It will be implemented from 10 pm on Monday night (today) and will continue for the next one week. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the lockdown in Delhi during a digital press conference. Under this, a full curfew is being imposed in Delhi from 10 pm on Monday to 26 April. After a meeting with Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Monday morning, CM Arvind Kejriwal has announced a lockdown in Delhi by 26th April. Under this, normal activities will come to a halt till 26th of April, but necessary services have been exempted.

Important things about lockdown in Delhi

  • All private offices in Delhi will have work from home.
  • Government offices and essential services will be exempt from lockdown.
  • Medical emergency will also get exemption.
  • All malls, gyms, spas, auditoriums, assembly halls, entertainment parks will remain closed.
  • Restrictions on eating in restaurants
  • Permission for home delivery or take away will continue.
  • People associated with hospitals, government employees, police, district magistrates, electricity, water, sanitation will get exemption in lockdown.
  • If someone has to go to the hospital, get a vaccine or take a sick person to the doctor, they will be allowed to go out.
  • Only few officers will be allowed to come in government offices.
  • Care should also be taken to ensure that migrant workers do not face any problem.
  • Those going to railway station, bus station, airport will get an exemption.
  • The weekly market will be opened in a day according to the zone.

In view of the increasing cases of Corona in Delhi in Delhi and the worsening condition of medical facilities in Delhi, several major market associations of Delhi have announced their own markets to be closed from Monday. Many of these markets will remain closed till April 25, while many other markets have announced to close their markets till April 21 at present.

Meanwhile, Delhi recorded 25,462 new cases on Sunday, the highest in a day so far. 49,837 patients have been found in two days. The number of active patients has reached 75 thousand. Death figures are also increasing. 161 patients died in the last 24 hours. It is a matter of some relief that for the first time, 20,159 patients were cured in a day.
