Arvind Kejriwal questions electricity rates in Uttarakhand

A day ahead of his visit in view of the elections in Uttarakhand, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday asked  why can’t the people of the power generating state to get electricity free of cost like residents of the national capital.

Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, ‘Uttarakhand itself generates electricity, also sells it to other states. Then why such expensive electricity to the people of Uttarakhand? Delhi does not generate its own electricity, it buys it from other states. Yet electricity is free in Delhi. Shouldn’t the people of Uttarakhand get free electricity? See you tomorrow in Dehradun.

CM Kejriwal to visit Uttarakhand

The National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal will visit Dehradun on Sunday. AAP has decided to contest the next year’s Vidhan Sabha elections in Uttarakhand.

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami gives reply

Responding to Kejriwal, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that ‘He may have an agenda for election but our agenda is to give the best work to the people of the state. We’re not working for the sake of elections. Development is the only challenge in front of us.’
