The second wave of the corona virus epidemic in the country is constantly declining. Along with this, vaccination is also progressing at a great pace. According to the data available on the Cowin portal, 1,21,99,599 doses of vaccine were administered in the country today. Earlier, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had said in a tweet about this, ‘More than one crore vaccines twice in five days. Congratulations, India has again given more than one crore vaccines today. This is the highest number of vaccinations in a day and the counting is still going on. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is fighting a strong fight against the corona virus.’

At the same time, on this day, the country got its first state, whose first dose of vaccine against the corona pandemic has been administered to every adult citizen. This state is Himachal Pradesh. BJP President JP Nadda wrote in a tweet, ‘Himachal has become the first state in the country, whose first dose of corona vaccine has been administered to every adult citizen. I congratulate the people and government of Himachal Pradesh for this achievement. India’s corona vaccination campaign under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the fastest in the world. Nadda said that I am sure that by the end of this year, we will have vaccinated every eligible person in the country.’

The central government has so far supplied 64.36 crore doses of anti-coronavirus vaccine to all states and union territories. This supply is free of cost and is made under the direct state procurement category. The Union Health Ministry gave this information on Tuesday. The ministry said that 14,94,040 doses are yet to be supplied.

The ministry said that the central government is committed to speed up the pace of vaccination against the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. With the availability of vaccines, the vaccination campaign has been further expanded. In the new phase of the campaign, the Center will procure 75 per cent of the vaccines being made by vaccine manufacturers and supply them free of cost to the states.
