educational institutions closed for two days as rains wreck havoc in UP

Incessant rain in Uttar Pradesh has now created a problem in Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain for the next two days in the region. After this, now taking a big decision, the government has issued orders to close all educational institutions from primary to university for two days. Now all educational institutions will open on Monday. Significantly, in many districts including Lucknow, the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert regarding rain. At the same time, the rain which started in the capital from Wednesday continued continuously on Thursday as well. In such a situation, the problem of water logging has arisen in the entire city.

CM gave instructions

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed all the Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates to conduct relief work with full readiness in view of the excessive rainfall in many areas of the state. The CM has also asked the officials to visit the affected area and keep an eye on the relief work. Along with this, instructions have been given to keep all educational institutions including schools and colleges in the state closed for the next 02 days, 17 and 18 September.

Assess the damage

During this, the CM directed the officials to provide immediate relief to the people affected by the rains. Along with this, arrangements should be made on priority to drain the water in case of water logging. CM Yogi instructed that the officers of all the districts should submit a report after assessing the damage due to rain in their area.

Currently, 115 mm of rain has been recorded in Lucknow from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm on Thursday in the capital. According to the information, on July 28 this year, there was the highest rainfall of this season. During that time, a total of 115 mm of rain was recorded in 24 hours. Earlier in 2012, a total of 138 mm of rain was recorded during 24 hours.
