Atleast 10 injured as man attacks people with knife on train in Tokyo

A major incident of knife stabbing has come to light in Japan’s capital Tokyo. Where, a 24-year-old man wearing fictional character Joker costume attacked passengers on the train with a knife, injuring 10 people. Regarding the attack, police said a man who attacked a Tokyo commuter train on Sunday stabbed several passengers before setting it on fire. At least 10 passengers were injured in the attack, including one critically injured.

Regarding the incident, NHK public television said the attacker, who has been identified as a 20-year-old man. After the incident, the attacker was arrested on the spot and his investigation is on. Tokyo police officials said the attack took place inside a Keio train near Kokuryo Station.

Police said the motive of the attacker was not immediately known. Television footage showed several fire brigade vehicles, police officers and paramedics escorting passengers, many of whom somehow managed to save their lives by jumping out of train windows.

This was the second attack on a Tokyo train in two months. In August, a day before the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics, a 36-year-old man stabbed 10 passengers on a commuter train. During interrogation after the attack, the suspect had told police that he wanted to attack happy looking women.
