On Kartik Purnima, people showed great enthusiasm about a holy dip in the river Ganga. On the occasion of Kartik Purnima festival in Haridwar, devotees take a dip of faith with the blessings of Ganga. People arrived with family to take bath in the Ganges. After seven months in the holy town, again Kumbh-like sight was seen. However, during this time the rules related to Corona were flouted. Devotees took bath in the Ganges, social distancing norms were not followed. Neither the masks were put on by the devotees nor random checks were done by the health department. Due to this, the possibility of increasing the risk of corona infection is also there. The administration claims that 14 lakh devotees took a holy dip in the Ganges on Friday. The sequence of bathing continued from early morning till noon.
