Mumbai records over 600 corona cases; highest since October 6

The number of new cases of corona in metropolitan Mumbai is increasing again. On Thursday, 602 new cases of corona were registered in the city, this is the highest number of corona cases registered in a single day in 77 days. Earlier, 629 cases of corona were registered in Mumbai on 6 October. In the last 24 hours, one person has died in Mumbai due to corona infection. At present, the number of active corona patients in the city is 2813 while the positivity rate is 1.52%.

39423 tests were conducted in Mumbai in the last 24 hours. Before Christmas and New Year, along with Mumbai, cases of coronavirus are increasing in Maharashtra as well. Mumbai and Pune circles are currently the hotspots of Corona. At present, there are more than 6,500 active patients of Corona in the state. Out of this, 59% patients are getting treatment in the hospital while 41% are in home quarantine.

Along with Mumbai and Maharashtra, the number of new corona cases is also increasing in the country. In the last 24 hours, 7,495 new COVID-19 cases were registered in India, which is an increase of 18.6 percent from Wednesday. On Wednesday, 6,317 new cases of corona were reported in the country. At the same time, 434 deaths have been registered in the last 24 hours. The Health Ministry said on Thursday that the cases of Omicron variants have increased to 236 in the country. The maximum number of cases of this new form of corona virus have been reported in Maharashtra and Delhi.
