WhatsApp rolls out cryptocurrency payment feature in US
Although WhatsApp Payment Service is rolling out slowly around the world, but the company has made a big announcement. The company has said that now people inside the US will be able to transfer cryptocurrency using WhatsApp to each other using WhatsApp Pay.
This feature is powered by Novi which is also a digital wallet of Meta. WhatsApp has only made this feature accessible to a few people, meaning the people who have reached this feature will be able to send and receive money through this messenger app.
According to Novi’s web page, this service is a new way to send and receive money and will not charge any fees. It allows the user to transfer money ‘without leaving the WhatsApp chat’.
This is not the first time that Facebook, which is now Meta, has revealed plans to make cryptocurrency payments through WhatsApp.
Now, WhatsApp has partnered with Novi to allow people to transfer money using cryptocurrency. Apart from the US, this service is also being tested in Guatemala.
