Kerala corona cases surge to record daily high of 55475 cases

A record 55,475 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Kerala on Tuesday. In the entire Corona period so far, this is the highest number of cases that has been registered in a single day. With the arrival of new cases, the total number of infected in the state has increased to 57,25,086. This is the highest number of infections reported in a day in the state since the start of the pandemic in 2020.

At the same time, during the last 24 hours, the death of 154 infected people was recorded, including 52,141 people have died due to the epidemic in the state so far. The new cases of death also include 84 such cases which have been included in the deaths due to Covid-19 on the basis of appeal after the new guidelines of the Center and the direction of the Supreme Court, while 70 patients died in the last few days.

The Health Department said in a release that 1,12,281 samples were tested for Covid-19 in Kerala during the last 24 hours. The infection rate has increased to more than 44 percent. A total of 4,42,466 people have been kept under observation in the state, out of which 10,342 people are admitted in various hospitals.

According to the release, 30,226 patients of Covid-19 have become infection free during the last 24 hours in Kerala, taking the number of people who have defeated the infection of this deadly virus in the state to 53,86,868. It has been told in the release that the number of patients under treatment for Covid-19 in the state has gone up to 2,85,365, out of which only 3.8 percent patients are admitted in hospitals. According to the Health Department, Ernakulam has the highest number of 9,405 new cases out of the 14 districts of the state. After this, 8,606 new cases of corona virus infection were registered in Thiruvananthapuram while 5,520 new cases were registered in Thrissur.
