UPI services restored after technical glitch

The Unified Payment Interface (UPI) service came to a standstill for nearly an hour on Sunday. National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) gave this information through a tweet. However, the UPI server has been fixed. It has been told that UPI services were stalled due to technical fault.

Earlier, hundreds of people using UPI spoke about the issue in services on social media platforms. These people complained that there is a problem in transactions from all digital wallets including Google Pay to Paytm. A tech reviewer even said that private banks sent messages to their customers about the outage of UPI services.

Large population in India depends on UPI transactions

Significantly, a large population in India is dependent on UPI transactions. According to the latest data, in December 2021, there were 456 crore transactions of about Rs 8.26 lakh crore through UPI in a single month. Apart from this, if we talk about the whole year, from January 2021 to December 2021, there was a transaction of about Rs 73 lakh crore. This was an increase of 110 per cent in 2021 as compared to 2020.
