Flight services impacted as Russia-Ukraine tension prevails

Although efforts are being made to avert a war between the US and Russia in Ukraine, the situation remains tense. On the one hand, US President Joe Biden says that America and its allies NATO will intervene if Russia makes any kind of encroachment into Ukraine. On the other hand, Russian forces continue to build up on the Ukrainian border and troops are not being withdrawn. A glimmer of hope has been shown by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who is arriving in Ukraine’s capital Kiev on Monday. He will be on tour to try to defuse the tension.

Nevertheless, all such efforts so far seem to be insufficient. Many airline companies around the world have stopped using Ukraine’s airspace. Apart from this, many countries have started recalling non-essential staff from their embassies. Many countries, including the US, have appealed to their citizens to leave Ukraine. However, even after this, there is no sign of softening from Russia. It’s military is standing on the border of Ukraine as before. Jake Sullivan, security adviser to US President Joe Biden, warned that Russia could strike at any time.

However, there has been a strong response from Russia as well. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said ‘US leaders lied, are lying and will continue to lie to fuel attacks on civilians around the world’. At the same time, German Chancellor Olaf said that peace in Europe has become a big threat. He said that if there is an attack from Russia, then strict sanctions will be imposed on it. He said that we have prepared a list of those sanctions and will do so immediately in case of any kind of attack.

Effect visible in India too, big fall in stock market

Meanwhile, the impact of Ukraine crisis is also being seen on India. There is a big fall in the stock market in the morning itself. A fall of 1,100 points in the BSE Sensex has been recorded in the early trade itself. Not only this, the period of decline in rupee and metals is also continuing. It is believed that due to the Ukraine crisis, the selling phase has started in the market. Its effect is visible not only in India but in the stock markets of many countries including America, Japan.
