PM Modi chairs another high level meeting over Russia-Ukraine crisis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is chairing another high level meeting on Ukraine crisis. Various aspects of the current situation are being discussed in this meeting. Senior officials are involved in this meeting. Prime Minister Modi has been holding such meetings continuously after Russia’s attack on Ukraine. Yesterday also on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi had held a similar meeting and directed to ensure the safe evacuation of Indian students on top priority.

Earlier on Monday itself, Prime Minister Modi had held a high-level meeting in which it was decided to give the responsibility of coordinating the safe evacuation of Indians by reaching Ukraine’s neighboring countries to four Union Ministers. According to the decision taken by the central government, Kiren Rijiju will coordinate with the governments there in Slovakia, Hardeep Puri in Hungary, VK Singh in Poland while Jyotiraditya Scindia in Romania and Moldova. PM Modi has asked to ensure the safe and early return of Indians.

It is known that PM Modi has spoken to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin and appealed for the safe return of Indians. He appealed to both the leaders to stop the violence. Prime Minister Modi says that India has always helped its citizens in difficult circumstances on foreign soil and worked to bring them to a safe India. At present, the safe return of Indians is the first priority of the government.

It is noteworthy that Ukraine’s airspace has been closed after the Russian attack. Because of this, India is evacuating its citizens trapped in Ukraine through border posts with Romania, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. The Indian Embassy in Ukraine advised citizens to reach the railway station in Kyiv. The Indian Embassy has asked Indian citizens to move to the western parts of Ukraine. Indian officials in the western cities of Ukraine will help in their evacuation.
