Faf Du Plessis named new RCB captain
Royal Challengers Bangalore has announced their captain for the upcoming season of IPL. After Virat Kohli stepped down from the post of captaincy in IPL 2021, RCB has now chosen its new captain. Royal Challengers Bangalore have chosen former South African skipper Faf du Plessis as their new captain. After making Faf the captain, Virat Kohli has wished him all the best for the upcoming season. From 2013 to 2021, Virat Kohli was the captain of the team.
RCB has shared a video of Virat Kohli on social media, in which he looks very excited for the upcoming season and congratulated Faf for his new role.
In the video shared by RCB, Virat Kohli said, ‘Hello, there is some update for all of you. As you know we are going to start our season soon. For which I am very excited. Like I said, moving towards this season with new energy. Most importantly, Faf du Plessis is going to be the new captain of the team and I couldn’t be happier that I am passing this responsibility on to my special friend. We have known each other for a long time. Excited to have Faf as captain, looking forward to leading the new franchise and playing under his leadership.’
Kohli further said, ‘Partnership with Faf is going to be a lot of fun for RCB fans. Same with Maxwell and other new players. Our team looks strong and very balanced. I am very happy. This is going to be a wonderful season.’
