Finland crowned World’s happiest country for fifth year in a row

Finland has been crowned the happiest country in the world for the fifth year in a row while Afghanistan sits at the bottom of the list. This information has been given in a recently released United Nations report. This report is based on many facts and Finland has got this title for the fifth time in a row. 146 countries have been included in this list. There has been some improvement in India’s position last year, last time India was ranked 139, which has now reached 136.

The World Happiness Report released on Friday by the United Nations states that Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland and the Netherlands are in the top five after Finland. The US is at 16th and Britain is at 17th. At the same time, in Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania, there has been a steady improvement in the condition, health of the people and there has been a sharp increase in the happiness index in these countries. On the contrary, the biggest decline and recent fall of people have been found in Lebanon, Venezuela and Afghanistan. Similarly, the situation has worsened due to the severe economic slowdown in Lebanon, second from last in the list below Zimbabwe.

Afghanistan reaches the bottom, millions of children can die of hunger

The situation in Afghanistan has become worse because of the Taliban. The humanitarian crisis has deepened here due to Taliban, who captured the country’s power in August last year. The UN agency UNICEF estimates that if this country is not given aid, then about one million children under the age of five could die of hunger. John Emmanuel de Neve, one of the authors of the World Happiness Report, said that ‘this index is a clear reminder of the material and damage that has been happening in the country concerned, where the situation is worse, the people of that place either in war-like situations’ have suffered, or they are living in post-war conditions.

The report is based on social and economic data

To prepare this report, the help of social and economic data in the respective countries was taken. This annual report is being prepared for the last 10 years. In this, the happiness score is calculated on a scale ranging from zero to 10 points based on the average data of the last three years. This bar report was prepared before Russia’s attack on Ukraine, so this report on the situation in those countries does not give results according to the current developments.
