ICC Women’s World Cup 2022: Team India defeat Bangladesh by 110 runs; placed 3rd on points table

The 22nd match of the ICC Women’s World Cup was played between India and Bangladesh, which India won by 110 runs. With this win, the Indian team has reached the top-3 in the points table. India has overtaken West Indies. It was a do or die match for India. India has played six matches so far, of which three have been won and three have been lost. India has registered big wins in all three matches and that is why Mithali Raj & Co has a strong net runrate.

Australia is on top with 12 points, while South Africa is at number two, which has eight points in its account. Australia has already qualified for the semi-finals, while South Africa is also almost certain to join them.

Equation of India reaching the semi-finals

India has to play its last league match against South Africa. If India wins the last league match, reaching the semi-finals will be certain, despite the defeat, India’s hopes will not be completely over. Even if India loses to South Africa, their way to the semi-finals will not be difficult. West Indies have to play their last league match against South Africa. If West Indies lose, India’s path to the semi-finals will be much easier. Meanwhile if India & West Indies were to lose their respective matches against South Africa and England were to win its remaining two matches then they would be in the third spot with 8 points.
