Japan to invest $42 billion in India over next 5 years says Japanese PM

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has announced a big investment in India. Kishida said that Japan will invest 5 million yen or around Rs 3.2 lakh crore in India in the next 5 years. Kishida arrived in India on a two-day visit on Saturday.

The Japanese PM met PM Modi on the first day at Hyderabad House in Delhi. During this, many issues were discussed between the two. After this, both participated in the 14th India-Japan Annual Summit.

In the conference, PM Modi said that the PM of Japan is our old friend. This is Fumio Kishida’s first visit to India after becoming the Prime Minister of Japan and meeting PM Modi for the first time. There was a meeting between the two Prime Ministers at Hyderabad House in Delhi at 5 pm.

‘Will provide all possible help to Japanese companies in India’ -PM Modi

Addressing the India-Japan Economic Forum, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that progress, prosperity and partnership are the cornerstones of India-Japan relations. We are committed to providing all possible assistance to Japanese companies in India. The economic partnership between the India-Japan Economic Partnership has made progress. Japan is one of the largest investors in India.

India-Japan is working on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor as a ‘one team-one project’. Our discussion today paved the way for taking our mutual cooperation to new heights. Apart from bilateral issues, we also exchanged views on many regional and global issues. We also decided to increase our coordination in the United Nations and other international fora.

Japan PM speaks on Ukraine-Russia dispute

On the other hand, Japanese Prime Minister Kishida said that today the whole world has been shaken due to many incidents, it is very important to have a close partnership between India and Japan. We expressed our views, talked about Russia’s war in Ukraine. We need a peaceful solution based on international law. Both countries should step up efforts for an open and free Indo-Pacific. Japan, along with India, will continue to try to end the war in the world and provide aid to Ukraine and its neighboring countries.
