Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, who had invested in a variety of businesses, recently also invested in Akasha Airlines. Jhunjhunwala held 40 percent stake in it. This investment was made at a time when most airlines are making losses. Akasha Airlines purchased 72 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft for its flights by American aerospace company.

Started investing with Rs 5000

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was one of the biggest investors in the Indian stock market. When he was in college, he started trying his hand in the stock market. He enrolled in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. It was only after graduating from here that he started trying his hand in the stock market. Jhunjhunwala started investing in 1985 with Rs 5,000. By September 2018, this investment had increased to Rs 11,000 crore. According to the information, at present the net worth of Jhunjhunwala is Rs 43.39 thousand crores.
