Chardham Yatra 2022 begins with re-opening of Gangotri temple

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived to attend the re-opening of the portals of Gangotri Dham. CM departed from Dehradun at 9:15 AM by helicopter and reached Harshil Helipad at 9:55 AM. The festival Doli of Goddess Ganga left for Gangotri Dham from Mukhba (Mukhimath) during the winter halt to the tunes of Har Har Gange andJai Maa Gange. The procession left for Gangotri Dham this morning after a night’s rest at Bhairon Temple located in Bhairon Ghati. The doors of the Gangotri temple will open for the devotees for the summer season 2022 at 11:15 am. At the same time, the procession of Yamuna left for Yamunotri Dham at 8:15 am. The doors of the temple will be opened at 12:15 pm.

Earlier, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami tweeted on Monday that the doors of Yamunotri Dham dedicated to Goddess Yamuna would open on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. Wishing all the devotees a happy, dedicated Chardham Yatra. Along with Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath in the Himalayas, Yamunotri is also a part of Chardham. Thousands of pilgrims visit Yamunotri Dham every year. This is the beginning of Chardham Yatra season 2022.

CM said that this time Chardham Yatra is going to be historic. The journey will be good with the blessings of all the deities. Many social organizations are also coming forward to serve the devotees in Chardham Yatra. The Yatra is starting at full capacity after two years due to the Covidpandemic. Due to the large number of devotees, there is also a challenge for us. The government and the people of the state together will make the journey successful.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi can come to Uttarakhand for Kedarnath Darshan. However, his schedule has not been finalized yet. But there are discussions about his coming to Kedarnath in the administrative and political circles. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has already invited the Prime Minister to visit Chardham Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj has announced that the first worship in the four Dhams will be in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Now there is talk of the Prime Minister coming to Kedarnath Darshan. The doors of Kedarnath Dham are opening on 6th May. The Prime Minister is expected to visit Kedarnath on the same day. Here, secret preparations are going on at the administrative level as well. The administration is making preparations and arrangements for the visit to Kedardham according to the possibility of the arrival of the Prime Minister.
