Weather department issues yellow alert for high temperatures in Garhwal region

On the second day of June, the maximum temperature in Dehradun reached 41.1 degrees. This has broken all the records of the last 10 years. For the first time in this season, the maximum temperature of Dehradun has crossed 40 degrees. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert regarding heat wave in the valley areas of Garhwal division. According to the Meteorological Department, in the next three-four days, the maximum temperature in the plains can remain in the range of 40 to 42 degrees and in the hilly areas up to 2000 meters height, the maximum temperature can remain in the range of 28 to 30 degrees.

The maximum temperature in Dehradun on Thursday was 5 degrees above normal and the condition of the people in the city was troubled by the heat. Due to the scorching heat, people passed the afternoon with great difficulty and people avoided going outside in the heat. The Meteorological Department had forecast the temperature to cross 40 and the process of increasing of the temperature had also started from 31 May. Till June 8, the continuous temperature in Dehradun is expected to be above 40 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature in Dehradun is expected to be 41 and the minimum temperature is 22 degrees. In Garhwal division too, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert keeping an eye on the heat wave. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to avoid the heat.
