Government convenes a meeting of all parties on July 17 before the monsoon session of Parliament

The central government has called an all-party meeting on July 17 at 11 am before the monsoon session of Parliament begins. News agency ANI gave this information on Tuesday. The monsoon session of Parliament will run from July 18 to August 12. It will have 18 sittings over a total period of 26 days. According to sources, the government can introduce about a dozen new bills during the monsoon session.

Sources told ‘PTI Bhasha’ that important bills like the Indian Antarctic Bill, Prevention of Child Marriage Amendment Bill, National Anti-Doping Bill and Biodiversity Amendment Bill are pending in Parliament. They said that about a dozen new bills can be introduced during the session.

This session of Parliament is going to be special as voting for the Presidential election is to be held on 18th July. On the other hand, the election of the Vice President will be held on 6th August. If the election for the post of Vice-President is not held unopposed, then the counting of votes will also take place on the same day. The opposition is preparing to surround the government on issues like Agneepath scheme, unemployment and inflation, alleged misuse of investigative agencies.

Review meeting for the preparations for the monsoon session

On July 6, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, Arjun Ram Meghwal also held a meeting with Secretaries and senior officers of various Ministries/Departments to review the preparations for the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament on matters related to Legislative and Government Business. The official of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs said that in the meeting, senior officials of various ministries and departments gave necessary information on the proposed work by their respective ministries.
