National Awards 2022: Ajay Devgn, Suriya win best actor award
Ajay Devgn won the Best Actor trophy for ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’. He shared the trophy with Suriya, who was given the award for ‘Soorarai Potru’. Aparna Balamurali won the award for best actress for ‘Soorarai Potru’.
According to media reports, the winners were announced last year due to the Corona pandemic, but the award ceremony was not organized. Ajay Devgn expressed happiness after winning the Best Actor Award. After his name was announced as Best Actor for Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Ajay has now become a three-time National Award winner. Prior to this, he won the National Award for Best Actor for the film ‘Zakhm’ in 1998 and ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’ in 2002.

After the success of the film, Ajay had revealed that he plans to make a franchise out of India’s Unsung Warriors. Meanwhile, in the list of National Award winners, ‘Tanaji’ also won the trophy for Best Popular Film Providing Entertainment and Best Costume Design.
