Earthquake tremors felt in 2 districts of Uttarakhand

Earthquake tremors were felt today on August 19 in Bageshwar district, which is considered very sensitive to earthquake in Uttarakhand. Tremors were felt in some parts of the district around 12.55 pm. Especially in Kapkot, when people felt the earthquake, panic spread and in many places people came to their homes. Along with Bageshwar, there was a lot of tremors in Munsiyari of Pithoragarh district. It is being told that the magnitude of this earthquake was 3.6 on the Richter scale and Kapkot region was said to be the epicenter of the earthquake. However, no damage has been reported in this earthquake incident.

After the tremors of the earthquake this afternoon, the administration has informed all the tehsils and police stations. Bageshwar comes in zone five in terms of earthquake and is considered very sensitive from this point of view. This is the third incident this year. Earlier on January 18, earthquake tremors were felt, whose magnitude was 2.5. After that, on July 8 also, there were tremors of earthquake in Kapkot, whose intensity was measured at 3.8.

It is also worth mentioning that the last time in July, when the earthquake occurred in Bageshwar, then big questions were raised about the alerting app because neither any warning was given in this app nor it was given till some time after the earthquake. The app was giving updates about earthquakes. This time too, the information on the website is being said to be updated late.
