Light rains reported in several parts of the country on Dussehera

In many states of the country, there was light rain on Dussehra. Due to this, Durga Puja immersion and Ravan Dahan programs were off-schedule. In fact, due to the Noru typhoon in the China Sea, a low pressure area and cyclonic winds are blowing in the Bay of Bengal, because of which it is raining due to getting moisture. This trend is expected to continue till mid-October.

Due to the  typhoon Noru, the monsoon is still stalled in some states of the country and its return is getting delayed. According to Skymet, an area of ​​low pressure and cyclonic circulation is persisting over Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas. A trough is extending from a low pressure area over Andhra Pradesh to another cyclonic circulation extending to entire Northwest Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The fresh rains will bring relief to the farmers of early rabi sowing states, while it may have an adverse effect on the cultivation of vegetables and flowers.

Red and Orange Alert for UP and Uttarakhand

According to the Meteorological Department, there will be rain in some parts of UP and Uttarakhand for the next few days. The department has issued an orange alert for UP and Uttarakhand. On October 7-8, a red alert has been issued in the Kumaon and Garhwal regions of Uttarakhand, expressing the possibility of extremely heavy rains. Similarly, an orange alert has been issued in UP for the next two to three days. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rain in some areas in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh.

Rain possible in Delhi NCR too

Here, there is a possibility of cloudy sky and light rain in Delhi NCR for about a week. On the other hand, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the next few days in the eastern states of the country including West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sikkim. According to the Director General of the Meteorological Department Mrityunjay Mohapatra, this time the monsoon will return by October 13.

Yellow alert for 20 states

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding rain in 20 states of the country. That is, there may be light to moderate rain with thunder and strong winds. These states are – UP, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
