Amazon launches Prime Video mobile edition plan; know price
Amazon has launched a new Prime Video Mobile Edition annual plan for Rs 599. This is a single user plan which will get new movies, Amazon Originals, Live Cricket and more. Sign up for the new plan can be done through the Prime Video app or website.
Netflix, Hotstar mobile plans already available
Before Amazon Prime Video, other OTT platforms like Disney + Hotstar and Netflix have both launched subscription plans for mobile users. Launching this plan will help Amazon increase the number of users. Prime Video Mobile Edition was launched last year in collaboration with Bharti Airtel as a telco-partner product. However, it will now be available to all users.
Movies, webseries will be able to watch in 480p quality
Prime Video Mobile Edition offers customers standard definition (SD) quality streaming. This 480p quality video suits small screens only. Amazon offers up to 4K resolution in other expensive plans. Like other plans, offline downloading facility will also be available in this plan. Apart from this, customers will also get features like IMDb powered X-ray.
Standard Prime membership costs Rs 1,499 annually
The standard membership of Amazon Prime Video costs Rs 1,499 annually. The plan offers multi-user access (profile), streaming across devices including smart TVs, and high resolution (HD/UHD) content. All other Prime benefits including free fast delivery on Amazon.in, ad-free music with Prime Music and Prime Reading are offered with the Rs 1,499 plan.
