Earthquake tremors felt in Uttarakhand early morning

An earthquake jolted Uttarakhand at around 8:35 a.m on 6th November. The magnitude of the Earthquake as per initial reports is said to be 4.7 and its epicenter was in Uttarkashi. These tremors were felt from Dehradun to Uttarkashi. Earthquake tremors were felt in Dunda Bhatwadi Barkot Naugaon area including district headquarters Uttarkashi. The magnitude of the earthquake was 4.7 on Richter scale.

Uttarakhand comes in the very vulnerable zone five of earthquake as it lies in the seismically active Himalayanbelt. Many of the cities and town’s in the state fall in Earthquake zone 4 or 5 meaning they are prone to large intensity Earthquakes.
