Uttarkashi tunnel rescue mission reaches the final stages

A major success has been achieved in the Uttarkashi Tunnel accident on the 17th day. Finally, the work of safely evacuating the 41 laborers trapped in the tunnel is in the last stage. There was a breakthrough in the tunnel on Tuesday and a escape tunnel has been built to take out the workers through the escape tunnel.

Hospital built inside the tunnel

Apart from the ambulance, stretchers and mattresses have been delivered inside the tunnel. A temporary hospital has been built here. The workers will be kept here after the rescue. After this they will be taken to Chinyalisaur, 30-35 KM away. Where a 41 bed special hospital has been built.

 

Chinook helicopter was deployed at Chinyalisaur airport, which would be used if any rescued worker’s health deteriorated, they would have been immediately sent to Rishikesh AIIMS by helicopter. But Chinook will not be able to fly at night, so they will have to be taken by ambulance.

NDRF team has reached inside Silkyara Tunnel. The rescue operation is now in the final stages. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Minister VK Singh are present at the rescue site.
