Flight services to Pithoragarh expected to start in early 2023

Next year i.e. in 2023, Pithoragarh district will be connected with air service.

Dehradun-Pantnagar-Pithoragarh Flight Service

Air service will be started for the border district. The 19 seater aircraft will reach Pithoragarh via Hindon, Dehradun and Pantnagar. Not only this, Chinyalisaur and Gauchar are will also be connected through air service. With the commencement of air service in these cities, the travel of the people will become convenient and the time spent in traveling will be saved. This is also a good step from the point of view of tourism. Recently, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had requested Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to start air service in these areas. In this series, the Union Civil Aviation Minister has instructed to start fixed wing aircraft services from Pithoragarh. The airline will start its operations from 31 January. The air service will be operated on Pithoragarh-Hindon, Dehradun-Pithoragarh and Pantnagar-Pithoragarh routes.

Along with this, to start air service in Chinyalisaur and Gauchar, they will be included in the tender of Udaan 5.0. Union Civil Aviation Minister has given this information by writing a letter to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The Union Minister also told in the letter that for the expansion of Dehradun Airport, Jollygrant as an international airport, the state government will have to provide the identified land free of cost as per the norms. Pantnagar airport will also be developed as an international airport. For this, the Airport Authority of India has conducted a survey on November 9. On November 27, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had met Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in Delhi. During this, he handed over a letter to him requesting to increase air connectivity in the state. In this context, the Union Minister has told the government about the action being taken regarding the related projects.
