Its first phase is going to be inaugurated on February 4, for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Dausa on February 4.

Sohna in Haryana to Dausa in Rajasthan is the first section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Its length is 225 km, while the distance from Delhi to Mumbai, the country’s largest expressway, is about 1350 km. After the expressway is ready in 2024, it will be possible to travel from Delhi to Mumbai by car in just 12 hours. At present, it takes about 24 hours to cover this distance.

The foundation stone of the Delhi Mumbai Expressway was laid in 2019. 12 lakh tonnes of steel will be used in its construction, which is equivalent to 50 Howrah Bridges. Along with this, 35 crore cubic meters of soil and 80 lakh tonnes of cement will be used. It is estimated that about one lakh crore rupees will be spent on its construction.

After the completion of the construction of the expressway, there will be a reduction in fuel consumption by 32 crore litres. There will be rain water harvesting system every 500 meters on the highway. Along with this, there is a plan to plant 40 lakh trees on both sides of the expressway.
