Sale-purchase of land in Raipur area of Dehradun to be frozen for next 6 months

For the next six months, people will not be able to buy land around the assembly and secretariat buildings to be built in Raipur area of Dehradun. The state government has frozen the sale and purchase of land. The Housing Department had prepared a proposal to halt the sale of land up to Thano Chowk for six months. An order has been issued regarding this. Areas from Raipur to Thano Road in the north, up to the main Haridwar Road in the south and Bhopal Pani, Barasi Grant and Kali Mati villages of Doonghati Maha Yojana in the east have been declared as freeze zones. New construction works in a large part of Raipur assembly constituency have been banned till further orders to make a new township including new assembly building, government office in Dehradun.

This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held at Gairsain on March 13. Now in this sequence, on Thursday, the Housing Department has issued a formal GO setting the limits of the freeze zone.
