Thousands affected due to snowstorm in California

Emergency has been declared in 13 cities of California, USA due to snow storm. 9 people died in the storm and more than 100 people have been rescued. Due to snowfall in California, there is no electricity in more than 70 thousand homes. The Meteorological Department has predicted 18-24 inches of snowfall in the next 2 days.

Officials said that due to record rain this week and snowfall in December-February, the problem of drought in California has also decreased.

It snowed up to 12 feet in Sierra Nevada, California. Due to the storm, major roads etc. have been closed due to snow. Public parks etc. have also been closed. People are confined to their homes.

It is becoming difficult for people to come out due to snowfall. Because of this, a crisis has also arisen for food items. People have to worry even for essential medicines. According to an estimate, close to one million people are affected due to snowfall and storm.
