Many flights effected due to heavy rains in Bengaluru

Heavy rains and inclement weather at Devanahalli on the outskirts of Bengaluru city forced 14 flights to land at the Kempegowda International Airport to be diverted to other airports and delayed the landing of six flights on Tuesday evening. Airport officials gave this information. Flights were affected since 4 pm due to heavy rain accompanied by strong wind and thunder. This problem continued till about five o’clock. A total of 14 flights were diverted to other airports.

Bengaluru rains: Flight services affected

Flight operations were affected from 4.05 pm to around 5 pm due to gusty winds and heavy rain accompanied by thunder, an airport official said.

The official said normal flight operations have been restored. According to the Met department, Kempegowda International Airport, Devanahalli received 45.2 mm of rain on Tuesday evening. At the same time, there was no rain in the central area of the city. Meanwhile, due to heavy rains, traffic came to a standstill in Devanahalli and normal life was thrown out of gear.
