The US Embassy in India issued a record 90 thousand student visas in the months from June to August this year. Never before had America issued such a large number of visas to Indian students in a period of 3 months. How much preference America has given to Indian students can be gauged from the fact that every fourth student in the world who gets American student visa is from India.
US Embassy congratulated Indian students
Announcing this in a post on social media platform X on Monday, the US Embassy in India said that we are very happy to share this information. “The US Mission in India is pleased to announce that we have issued a record number of more than 90,000 student visas this summer – in the months of June, July and August,” the US Embassy wrote on X. Nearly one in four student visas worldwide were issued in India this summer. The US Embassy congratulated the Indian students for choosing the US to pursue their higher education goals.
Every fifth foreign student in America is Indian
With more than 90,000 student visas issued during June, July and August, America is soon set to create a new record on an annual basis. Currently, the number of Indian students studying in American educational institutions is more than 20 percent of all international students in America. Recently America’s Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti had said that for the first time the waiting time for tourist visa interview has been reduced by 50 percent. Speaking at IIT Delhi, Garcetti had said that the India-US visa process has never been this fast before.
