BRO clears snow; vehicular movement to begin at Rohtang pass for summer season

Those interested in visiting Manali and Lahaul and fond of seeing snow were eagerly waiting for the Rohtang Pass to be restored. There is good news for such people. The Border Roads Organization (BRO) has opened the Rohtang Pass. Both the ends of the road have been merged with each other till late Wednesday night.

The movement of vehicles will start from Rohtang Pass. Rohtang Pass at 13050 feet height will be restarted after about seven months. It is being told that this time in the month of May also snow has fallen many times in Rohtang. Because of this, there was a delay in restoring the Rohtang Pass.

Now after restoring the road, the road will be widened to two lanes by removing the snow from high mountains from today and arrangements for crossing and parking of vehicles are being made. BRO had started snow clearance work from Manali and Koksar side of Lahaul to restore the pass.

Now people use the Atal Tunnel to go to Lahaul, but traveling through Rohtang Pass has its own fun. Buses and vehicles pass between 10 to 15 feet high snow mountain on both sides of the road. That’s why especially the tourists were eagerly waiting for the Rohtang Pass to open.
