BRO developing new route to view mount Kailash from India

The road being prepared in Lipulekh in Uttarakhand to view Mount Kailash, which is considered to be the abode of Lord Shiva, will start soon. According to PTI, this route is expected to be opened after September this year.

Officials said that the Border Roads Organization (BRO) has started the work of cutting the road from KMVN huts in Pithoragarh’s Nabhidhang to Lipulekh pass on the India-China border. They say that this work will be completed by September.

A month ago a new view point was found in Uttarakhand. The holy site of Mount Kailash is easily visible from a 2 kilometer high hill just above Nabhidhang in Pithoragarh district.

According to the report, Vimal Goswami, Chief Engineer of BRO’s project said that we have started the work of cutting about 6.5 km long road from KMVN Huts to Lipulekh Pass in Nabhidhang.

If the weather is right, the work will be completed by September. Along with the road work, ‘Kailash View Point’ will also be ready. The Government of India has given the Hirak project the responsibility of making ‘Kailash View Point’.

Local villagers discovered  the new point

The new view point found in Pithoragarh was discovered by the local villagers. On the information of the villagers, the team of officers and experts had also reached there. They did a survey there for road map, arrangements for people to stay, route to reach the point of darshan and other arrangements.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is closed since 2019

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra was last held in the year 2019. After that, first due to Corona, then due to heavy snowfall, the yatra was stopped.
