Water level of Yamuna recedes in Delhi; yellow alert for rain

The water level of Yamuna decreased in Delhi on Saturday. The water level of Yamuna river came down to 207.38 meters at 12 noon. It is expected to decrease further.

On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain in Delhi on Saturday. According to IMD, there may be light to moderate rains in Delhi on 15th July.

In the Indraprastha area of the capital, the regulator of the drainage made in the Yamuna river was broken. It was rectified on Friday night with the help of the army. A gate of ITO Barrage was also opened.

However, the flood water is still filled in Red Fort, ITO, Bela Road and surrounding areas. 16 teams of NDRF are still deployed for relief and rescue. There is a possibility of heavy rains in 20 states including Himachal, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan in the next 24 hours.

Heavy rains will occur over these states: Himachal, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Goa, Sikkim, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Odisha, Karnataka.

Light rain will occur in these states: Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Bihar, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu may receive light rain with lightning.
