India defeat Sri Lanka by 10 wickets to win Asia Cup 2023

India has won the Asia Cup 2023 title by defeating the Sri Lankan team by 10 wickets. In the final match played at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Indian fast bowler Mohammad Siraj’s spell completely decimated the top and middle order of Sri Lanka.

Siraj claimed 4 wickets in an over and six overall to reduce the team to 50 runs. Mohammad Siraj became the fourth bowler in the history of ODI to take four wickets in an over. He also equaled the record of former Sri Lankan fast bowler Chaminda Vaas of taking the fastest five wickets in an innings in ODI cricket. India had entered the world of cricket in the year 1932 but, till now in the history of 91 years, no Indian bowler has been able to take 4 wickets in an over. Siraj has become the first Indian to achieve this feat. In this match, Siraj spent 21 runs while bowling 7 overs and took 6 wickets.

In response, while chasing the target, India defeated Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in just 6.1 overs due to the unbeaten innings of Ishan Kishan (23) and Shubman Gill (23).

The Indian team won the 8th title of Asia Cup. By defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets, the Indian team registered its biggest ODI win till date.

Team India has won the Asia Cup title for the 8th time. India defeated Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the final match of Asia Cup 2023. This is India’s biggest win in terms of balls remaining at the end of the match. Team India achieved this spectacular victory with 263 balls remaining. Earlier, the Indian team had defeated Kenya in the year 2001 with 231 balls remaining.

In the final match, the Sri Lankan team won the toss and batted first and were all out for 50 runs in 15.2 overs. In response, Team India won by scoring 51 runs in 6.1 overs. India achieved this target by playing the least number of balls.
