Big decision of IOC, return of cricket in Olympics after 128 years

Cricket’s return to the Olympics after 128 years looks more likely. Five more games have also been included for Olympics 2028. IOC President Thomas Bach has said that ‘we will work with the ICC. We will not work with individual cricket officials of any country. With the help of ICC we will see how cricket can be made more popular.’ Following review by the Olympic Program Commission, the additional sports proposal to the IOC Executive Board Organizing Committee was put to the IOC Session. Baseball/softball, cricket (T20), flag football, lacrosse (sixes), and squash have also been included during this period.

Proposal to include cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics has been approved. The proposal has been approved for inclusion in the Los Angeles Olympics by the Executive of the International Olympic Committee. This was announced after the second day of the executive board meeting in Mumbai on Friday.

Cricket was last played in the Olympics in 1900

Cricket was previously played at the 1900 Paris Olympics, where England and France faced off for the gold medal. However, efforts have been going on to include cricket in the Olympics for a long time and only now has it been successful. Actually, keeping in mind the popularity of cricket, IOC will try to capitalize on the market of the Indian subcontinent. For this, men’s and women’s T-20 cricket will be included in the Olympics 2028.
