Ind vs SA ODI Series: India defeats South Africa in 1st ODI by 8 wickets
The Indian team started the three-match ODI series against South Africa on a bright note and won the first match by 8 wickets. With this, Team India has now taken a 1-0 lead in this series. In this match, the magic of two fast bowlers of the Indian team was seen in which Arshdeep Singh took 5 wickets and Avesh Khan took 4 wickets, due to which the South African team was limited to only 116 runs in 27.3 overs in this match. Team India achieved this target in 16.4 overs and won the match.
India’s biggest win against Africa by balls difference
Under the captaincy of KL Rahul, the Indian team comprehensively defeated the host nation by 8 wickets and 200 balls remaining.
It is also the biggest win against the team so far. Apart from this, this is India’s fourth biggest win against any team in ODI so far by difference of balls. This is South Africa’s second biggest defeat in ODIs by this margin. If we look at South Africa’s performance in the last three ODI matches against the Indian team, once it scored 99 runs, second time it scored 83 runs while in this match it was limited to 116 runs.
Sai Sudarshan scores half-century on debut
Young left-handed opening batsman Sai Sudarshan got a chance to debut for Team India in this match and he took full advantage of it and played a brilliant unbeaten inning of 55 runs. With this, Sudarshan has now become the fourth opening batsman to score more than 50 runs in the debut match for India in the ODI format. Before this, Robin Uthappa, KL Rahul and Faiz Fazal have been successful in doing this feat.
