U19 World Cup Final: Australia deny India another championship title

Australia proved to the achilles heal for team India in ICC tournament finals once again. On Sunday, the Aussies defeated India by 79 runs in the final of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2024. With this defeat, India’s dream of winning the Under-19 World Cup trophy for the sixth time has been shattered. Australia has captured the Under-19 World Cup trophy for the fourth time. The last time Australia won the Under-19 World Cup trophy was in 2010.

India lost the chance to become world champion for the sixth time

Australia, batting first, scored a challenging score of 253 runs for seven wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Australian cricketer of Indian origin Harjas Singh played an inning of 55 runs in 64 balls. Harjas Singh hit 3 fours and as many sixes during this period. Australia set a challenging target of 254 runs for India in their alloted overs. Harjas Singh was the only batsman of his team in this final match who scored a half-century. Chasing the target, the Indian team, in response, got out after scoring 174 runs in 43.5 overs.
