IndiGo to start Bengaluru-Lakshadweep flight services

The country’s largest airline IndiGo is going to started a direct flight from Bengaluru to Lakshadweep. This flight will be operated by IndiGo to Agati Island of Lakshadweep. Agati will be the 88th domestic and 121st destination in IndiGo’s network, the airline said.

The airline will use ATR aircraft

According to the information given by IndiGo, services between Bengaluru and Agati will start from March 31. The airline will use approximately 78-seat ATR aircraft on this route. Indigo said Agati is popular with people looking for deep sea fishing, scuba diving, sailing, skiing and even kayaking. IndiGo operates more than 2,000 flights daily.

Government is promoting Lakshadweep

Lakshadweep is being continuously promoted by the Central Government. PM Narendra Modi also visited Lakshadweep in early 2024. People were appealed to see these beautiful island groups of India. The government had also announced in the interim budget 2024 to focus on infrastructure in Lakshadweep.

How to reach Lakshadweep?

According to the information given on the website of Lakshadweep Union Territory, at present, apart from flying from Kochi, you can reach Lakshadweep by ship. Agatti and Bangaram islands can be reached by flight from Kochi. Indian Airlines operates flights from Kochi. Apart from this, seven passenger ships are operated from Kochi to Lakshadweep. It takes 14 to 18 hours from Kochi by water ship.
