6 injured in bus and taxi accident on Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway

A bus and a car collided head-on near Devprayag on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway this afternoon. 6 people were injured in this accident, two of whom suffered bone fractures.
SHO Mahipal Singh Rawat informed that a bus and an Ertiga taxi collided head-on near Raghunath Hotel in Devprayag. He said that the bus was going from Srinagar to Rishikesh and the taxi was coming from Rishikesh to Srinagar. The collision was so severe that six people in the taxi were injured, two of whom suffered bone fractures.
According to eyewitnesses, the taxi car suddenly came to the wrong side, due to which it collided directly with the bus coming from the front. A total of six people including the driver of the Ertiga taxi were injured in this accident. Two of the passengers suffered bone fractures, while the other four suffered minor injuries. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and the injured were taken out of the vehicle and taken to the hospital in Devprayag.
Crane called in to remove vehicles
The police, who reached the spot, took immediate action after the incident and removed both the vehicles to the side of the road with the help of a crane. After which traffic on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway could be restored smoothly. Devprayag police station in-charge Mahipal Singh Rawat said that the seriously injured persons in the accident have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
