CM to inaugurate the “Run for Unity” cross country race 2024 on October 29
The birth anniversary of Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is celebrated as National Unity Day with full enthusiasm across the country on 31 October. On this occasion, women and men open “Run for Unity” has also been organized to spread the message of national unity to the people. Keeping in mind the Diwali festival on 31 October, this program will now be organized in the state on 29 October instead of 31 October.
In this regard, Secretary General Administration Department Dipendra Kumar Chaudhary has issued guidelines related to this in a letter sent to all Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Director General of Police, Divisional Commissioners, District Magistrates and Heads of Departments etc. as per the expectations of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
As per the proposed program related to the organization of “Run for Unity” to be held on 29 October, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will flag off the cross country race at 7:20 am on 29 October, 2024 and inaugurate the race from Pavilion Ground Dehradun.
Sports MinisterRekha Arya, MLA Khajan Das, Principal Secretary Sports and other dignitaries will be present in this event organized by the Sports Department. The Chief Minister will also distribute prizes to the winner and runner-up players.
