Four killed by speeding car in Dehradun, search for driver underway

A high-speed luxury car ran over four labourers walking on the roadside on Rajpur Road in Dehradun, Uttarakhand . All four died on the spot. Instead of stopping the car, the car driver hit a scooter parked at some distance and fled. Two youths talking on the scooter also got injured. The car is said to have Chandigarh number, the help of CCTV cameras was taken to search for it.

The incident took place between Rajpur and Sai Mandir at around 8:15 pm on Wednesday (March 12) night. SSP Ajai Singh said that the deceased have been identified as Mansha Ram and Ranjit, residents of village Lauti Saraiya in Ayodhya. While, efforts are being made to identify the two deceased. All of them were living in Kanth Bangla Basti. All of them worked as labourers and masons under a contractor. The accident happened when all of them were returning to their homes after finishing the work.

Search for car driver

Senior Superintendent of Police Ajai Singh said that after the incident, the car driver fled from the spot, who is being searched for. Several police teams are looking for the car driver and he is being searched by putting up blockades at several places.
