Survey work started in Mussoorie, carrying capacity will be measured
Mussoorie, one of the most visited hill stations of Uttarakhand faces a lot of pressure as tourist numbers increase. It is very difficult to reach here especially on weekends and holidays. Keeping this in mind, a survey of Mussoorie is being conducted for the first time. So that the biggest problem of this hill station can be eliminated.
With time, Mussoorie has become a over saturated with tourists especially during season. Tourists from India and abroad plan to visit Mussoorie, but after reaching Dehradun, going to Mussoorie is no less than a big challenge. Mainly, the parking arrangement and traffic system for Mussoorie is one of the biggest challenges. Concerns have been expressed on this for a long time but no concrete efforts have been made.
For the first time, the tourism department has been seen getting serious about the hill station Mussoorie. This is the first time when a team has reached Mussoorie and started the survey work. So that the arrangements can be improved here. Not only the existing number of hotels or homestays in Mussoorie is being seen but the caring capacity here is also being studied.
Tourism Secretary Dhiraj Singh said that traffic system has been a big concern for Mussoorie. In view of this, efforts are being made to find out the caring capacity of the hill station. So that proper arrangements can be made keeping in mind the facilities of the tourists coming here.
Mussoorie, known as the Queen of Hills, has few choke points due to which traffic comes to a standstill when traffic influx increases. Tourists from all over the country and the world come to Mussoorie throughout the year. Especially, there is a rush of tourists here during snowfall and holidays. The number of tourists here becomes so high that there is a situation of jam from Dehradun itself. It becomes difficult to handle the situation in Mussoorie.
The purpose of the survey by the Tourism Department is to know the caring capacity in Mussoorie. Along with this, it will also help the police in terms of security arrangements. There are only three to four routes to Mussoorie. A plan is being made to install cameras on all these roads. Through this, the administration will keep an eye on all the vehicles. Better monitoring can also be done through this. On the other hand, in future, arrangements can be made to send tourists in Mussoorie based on the number of hotels and homestays present there. After these circumstances, not only the worsening traffic conditions can be controlled, but the parking problem in Mussoorie can also be controlled to some extent.
