Heavy rain wreaks havoc in Uttarakhand; know weather forecast for September 3

Heavy rains continued in Uttarakhand on Tuesday (September 2) as well. The Meteorological Department had issued a red alert for heavy to very heavy rains with thunderstorms in many districts of Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department says that heavy rains will continue in many parts of the state tomorrow (September 3, 2025) as well. Due to continuous heavy rains in the state, most of the rivers are in spate. The water level of many rivers including Ganga and its tributaries Mandakini and Alaknanda have gone above the danger mark.

Orange alert in these districts tomorrow

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of heavy to very heavy rains at different places in Dehradun, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar and Bageshwar districts on September 3. During this time, incidents of lightning can also be seen at some places. While a yellow alert of heavy rain has been issued at different places in Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains with thunderstorms and storms at different places in the hilly districts of Uttarakhand on September 3 itself. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued for stormy weather with thunderstorms at different places in Haridwar districts. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains at different places in Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on September 4.
