As per media reports, Gill not only completed his rehab but also met all fitness and performance standards. His recovery process has been closely monitored, and the results have been deemed successful and satisfactory.

Gill was included in the squad when Team India was announced for the five-match T20I series a few days ago. However, the BCCI clarified that his place would depend on his fitness, meaning he would be removed if he failed the fitness test. However, this will no longer be necessary. He will soon be officially discharged from the CoE. The Sports Science and Medicine Department will provide clearance for him.

The series begins on December 9th

Gill was appointed captain of India’s ODI team in place of Rohit Sharma for the Australia tour. He was also named vice-captain of the T20 team. He will return to the role of vice-captain for the five-match T20 series against South Africa, starting on December 9th. The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be played between February and March next year, and Gill’s inclusion in Team India is crucial for this.
